Who we are

Travis was originally born at a US Army Hospital on Okinawa Island, Japan. His father was working as a military contractor in Asia for his first 2 years of life. The family moved to San Diego, CA and he spent his early childhood in Escondido until 1977 and subsequently graduating from Placer High School in 1986 - Auburn, California. He joined the US Navy in 1988 and continued in the footsteps of his father and was stationed in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

Mr. Travis Eric Lord has received his honorable discharge in 1992 from the United States Navy at San Diego, California. After a Desert Storm Gulf War tour as a Radioman with the USS Coronado 3rd Fleet Admiral’s Ship, he moved to Northern California to return to working with his father and mother at their family’s local jewelry store.

Under his father, master Goldsmith and Electrician, Gary L. Lord and his mother and business owner, Jan B. Lord, Lead Jeweler Designer of Sierra Moon Goldsmiths established in 1978 - Old Town Auburn California, Travis had gained essential experience at Alan Revere School in San Francisco, CA and the Gemology Institute of America (GIA) educated as a Gemologist, Goldsmith and precious metals and gemstones authority over the past 35 years.

Currently, he is a United States Postal Carrier, USPS.gov

Reno, Nevada - Washoe County

Travis E. Lord and Linda Mari Lord (Castilho) have recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.- Linda is an academically trained Fine Artist and Portrait Photographer. She graduated with a BFA from California State University, Long Beach in 1995. After graduating, she moved to San Francisco. There she met and married Travis. Eventually, she became a K-12.com Educator 2008-2019 with Nevada Virtual Academy - Clark County, Las Vegas, NV. Linda was born in Torrance, California ( Los Angeles). Together, they have lived and virtual-schooled their 2 daughters in Reno-Sparks, Nevada since 2006.

One is currently attending the University of Nevada, Reno and the other is attending Medical School at UC Berkeley as of 2025.

The Lord family Legacy.

It all began in Old Town Auburn, Northern California, the heart of the gold country when Sierra Moon Goldsmiths was established in 1978 at 107 Sacramento Street.

Our mission is to carry the torch for the next generation and continue our family's legacy to share, educate and connect our passion for geography, travel and minerals with the community.
